The incredible Les Puces
Porte de Clignancourt markets , nicknamed Les Puces , are the largest antique markets in the world covering seven hectares. For years making the journey eluded me because of work commitments and I couldn’t take the time to go to the city’s outskirts. One day my wish came true and my boyfriend and I made the journey. What a trip this place is ! From African objects , counterfeit sneakers , vintage fur, immaculate early Chanel and Dior , crazy jewellery , alleyways full of mid century furniture and mind blowing antiques , Les Puces did not dissapoint . “This is the place for me!” - I thought as I walked around and around feverishly , not blinking for fear of missing something, while getting lost in the centuries of history on display.
I finally glanced a collage that intrigued me but the price was too high so I kept walking. However it dragged me back and it didn’t matter that we were flying back to Australia the next day with 3 suitcases and the collage was large and encased in a solid and heavy metal frame…I had to negotiate a price. It didn’t matter my boyfriend had to lug it home and was probably going to strangle me that night. All that mattered was that I had a piece of Les Puces coming home with me forever ! It hangs in my bedroom now and everytime I look at it I get giddy.
The following are just a few of the incredible shops there. Snow White and creepy dwarfs dresser anyone?

Oh my favorite place in Paris! AND if you go right behind here, walk North you will find the stalls of flea markets that are cheaper, not so many antiques but shoes, jewelry, goods from Morocco, Africa etc.I could spend every day here and not see everything, go early plan on all day and take a shopping cart that you can wheel.
Thanks for the tip!.. Can’t wait to go back there , hopefully this summer!
