NOOR FARES & SACRED GEOMETRY
Noor Fares looked just like a Lebanese princess in her showroom suite of Paris’ Hotel Le Bristol as she went about showing me her gorgeous jewellery last week but this girl has had a much more interesting life than being cooped up in some palace. Brought up between Lebanon, Europe, United States and the Middle East, Noor brings a taste of all these influences into her creations but the flavour is entirely her own. After completing courses in Fashion PR and Journalism at Central Saint Martins and The London College of Fashion, where she achieved diplomas in both Jewellery Design and Diamond Grading , Noor started her eponymous label N.oor in 2009 . Her first collection based around universal lucky charms gained Harrods as a stockist 6 months after launching.
The current collection is based on sacred geometry and it utilises unusual materials such as mammoth ivory, brown diamonds, black and white rhodium, green tsavorites and orange sapphires along with white gold, rose gold and white diamonds. The jewellery is fine, tactile and inventive with clever details – the earrings can be worn 3 ways making them ultra versatile. Beautiful, cool and a little androgynous- I want it all ! Here is just a small taste of her collection…
