FIRE FLOWER
A study in late light, Fire Flower catches a tree combusting in scarlet reds — petals lit from behind, branches drawn dark against a softening sea, sun held briefly between limbs like a coal not yet extinguished. The image moves through three layers of attention: the close fire of the bloom, the long water beyond, and the gold of a horizon already turning toward dusk.
The work was made at Qualia, on Hamilton Island, during a window of time where colour intensifies before it begins a slow combustion.
